"(End)less Forest and the Episode of Leticia" is a multimedia performance involving sound, poetry, discourses and video mapping, that recreates the history and sensorial imagery of the Amazon forest.
Moving between fiction and documentary, voices narrate records of the Amazonian Conflict that occurred between the governments of Colombia and Peru over the port of Leticia in 1932, during which the radio was used. This while electronic sounds seek to reformulate the soundscape of this jungle from a distant position.
Considering that the State and transnational powers not only struggle to control the Amazonian territory by military means, but also by imposing the narrative with which it is narrated and imagined, this performance emphasizes how the radio played a central role in this task.
Given the real and present possibility that this forest will end, it is necessary to access the symbolic apparatus and construct new imaginaries, from its past to its present and future.
